I recently had a last minute over night stay at the Harrison Hot Springs Hotel. Although I’ve attended meetings and events at the resort numerous times over the years, it was the first time for me to stay over-night. Check in was quick and easy.
Upon entering the room, I couldn’t help but notice the decor was fairly dated. I was expecting something a little more modern, but not a huge deal. On the bed were robes and towels. The bed was nice and comfy, something that I find important. The washroom was large with a massive shower. Since I had arrived so late, I watched a little bit of TV before calling it a night.
We were up early (with my little sidekick again) since we wanted to try the hotsprings before we left. After all, that’s what they are known for! Note to self, remember to bring slippers next time. It was a gloomy and wet day (of course) and the indoor pool wasn’t ready. So we had a quick dip in the outside hot springs. They felt nice, but we didn’t stay in long as it was raining pretty heavy. I saw some guests getting creative in the adult pool, with outdoor chairs flipped over to cover their heads.
We were cold and wet when we got back to our room, so we both decided to take showers. The shower was wonderfully hot and the water pressure was nice and strong. I’m not sure about you, but I enjoy when the shower isn’t weak.
Before we left, we took a tour of the beautifully decorated resort. Christmas is a great time to visit, the decorations, trees and lights really give that festive feel. A must-do is sitting by the magnificent fireplace.
My stay was so short, so this review is short and sweet. Next time I’ll have to find the best on the go snacks for convenience sake, since we missed out on the on-site eats. We hope to stay again in the future, where we can try the restaurant for for dinner and breakfast and have a real soak in the hot springs.
