Here is a newly updated version of my stay at Rowena’s Inn – with moving to a new theme I somehow lost my very first post, and this was it.
At the end of November, I had the privilege of staying at Rowena’s Inn on the River. Living close by, I had dined at the restaurant many times, but this was my first time staying overnight in one of the cottages. My youngest daughter accompanied me for our stay.
Rowena’s is located in Harrison Mills, approximately a 30 minute drive East from Mission. Harrison Hot springs is a short 15-20 minute drive from Rowena’s. The Inn and cottages themselves are located on the Sandpiper Golf Course. The South side of the property boasts lovely views of the Harrison River, and the North and surrounding areas are mountainous and stunning, a picturesque backdrop of Beautiful B.C, if I do say so myself.
In the beginning of Febuary my littlest babe and I travelled on the ferry over to Nanaimo. Prior to this trip, I had only been to the island once before, a quick day visit with my grade 8 class. So I was excited.
Not going to lie, the ferry ride over sucked. It was late and dark, so there was no view outside the windows. It was also really crowded, and we ended up losing our seats and I eventually just plopped down outside the little kids playroom. It proved to be be a smart move getting off though, we were right beside the door to exit.
Seeing my dear friend was the obvious highlight of the trip; having the kids being able to visit together and hang out was fun. Hanging out with old friends is usually always full of laughs and jokes. [Read more…]
