Who’s ready to go on a road trip this summer? We like to ride down the coast or up to the mountains, it doesn’t matter to us. As long as we’re together it’s a good road trip, but there are some things that can make it a little better. Every road trip always has a single flaw, never enough snacks. Don’t worry though, if you ever forget to pack munchies remember almost every gas station or convenience store will carry what you’re craving. Although, if you know you are going out of town you should pack up on a few of these awesome snacks.
In the beginning of December we travelled along to the sea-to-sky highway to Squamish. Our destination? The Polar Express! The family had a blast. I wanted to share our experience so here it is…
Our drive up there was a wet one, but enjoyable. I wish I had packed some healthy snacks to travel with. Next time. We ended up stopping and picking up some doughnuts and chips. I know, I know…certainly not good road trip food. Next time I’m doing up a road trip food list! We arrived about 45 minuted before our train was set to leave, and I definitely recommend arriving that early. The parking area is about a five or so minute walk away from the actual train station. Make sure you have appropriate footwear, it was wet and muddy when we went. (Make sure to watch the Polar Express the night before your trip…makes it that much more special!)
Upon entry, I found that I didn’t actually need my printed tickets. They were able to look up my name and then hand us those magical golden tickets. Outside the train station, they had a small band playing Christmas music. They were even inviting the kids to come up and join in. My daughter briefly grabbed an instrument and joined in.
